SSS & Dan,

I contacted Washington Post columnist John Kelley who wrote about Montgomery Donuts and expressed my same displeasure...that both institutions born within a couple of blocks of one another on Georgia Avenue...have decamped and set up shop everywhere except Silver Spring.

This is indeed, so wrong.

I'm going to begin to campaign to get these two back to SS where they belong. Wanna join me?

It is a shame that great Silver Spring institutions, be they donuts or Gifford's Ice Cream, go under only to be resurrected in other, less deserving places.

Though, I mean, it might still be worth going to Crystal City for my first Montgomery Donut in I don't remember how long.
