Yawn

There isn't a hell of a lot going on this week, and that certainly includes my desk, where nothing of note has been accomplished since last Friday. In fact, I left the office for for awhile today to hit up White Oak Lanes in order to remind myself how much I suck at duckpin bowling.

In lieu of any new news, I will simply post this photo, taken last Thursday in front of the Trader Joe's in the Burnt Mills shopping center. How this happened I can't even begin to fathom.

Special thanks to reader AB for submitting the photo!

I'm guessing "elderly" would be somewhere in the equation.

Wow. What a way to test the strength of that fence!

Usually it's an elderly person who mistook the gas for the brake. Isn't that what happened to the front window of Woodside Deli last year?

OK, I think I've figured it out. The car must have gone forward and knocked over the fence. Then the driver tried to back up and the car pulled the fence back up but got caught on it. I believe that this is a rear-wheel drive model, which makes the scenario plausible.

Gotta be a Woodsider run rampant at the Joe. Isn't that a Volvo?

If you care for my analysis: It looks like the person was going fast enough to become airborne upon hitting the curb, and the cars nose landed on the fence. It held out real well either way.

I don't see how the front end of the car could have gotten 3 feet off the ground by hitting a curb, though. Especially not at speeds that they could reach pulling into a spot in a parking lot.

It was a driving challenged multitasker yakking on their cellphone with a hot Starbucks in their other hand which they spilled in their lap. They were parked at just the right distance from the 2 foot high curb that when they floored the pedal, their turbocharged Volvo p.o.s. managed to hit it just right and leapt over the curb. Thus a simultaneous artistic image and cry for help and release from its insufferable owner were created by said Volvo.

Yes, it was a Volvo. And there was barely any damage to the car from what I noticed.
