Election Night Hangover

Damn, I'm tired after watching six straight hours of campaign coverage. The good news is that voters finally gave "Warlord George Walter Bush" the big "up yours" he so richly deserves. Of course, it would have been nice if it hadn't taken them six years.

It has been a good week:

Note that the polls for City Place's new name remain open through tonight. Be sure to vote and let your voice be heard!

You missed something on your "good things this week" list.

Terps beat Clemson!

I'm still dancing around over that one. I am, however, getting increasingly worried about the Fridge. The man is bigger than ever and a candidate for a heart attack.

I'm also overjoyed at the results of the election. We have a lot of cleaning up to do after the past four years.

Technically the Terps' victory was last week. :)

Not until Saturday. I'm getting in a full 7 days of dancing. :)

To be fair, Baltimore was "brought down" prior to O'Malley's arrival.

Gee...I guess Michael Steele didn't get much of the African-American vote after all.

Good times for Maryland!

Enjoy your retirement Bobby Haircut.

I think Steele underestimated Maryland's African-American communities rather badly. You just can't walk in and say "I'm African-American, you're African-American, vote for me." People are smart and want to hear about issues.

Terry your statement demonstrates just the problem with the party in MD - and nationally. You don't think the fact that African-American's have virtually no influence in the state party and no representation at the top of the ticket despite the fact they deliver more then 60% of the dem vote is a legitimate issue? A number of prominent African-American dems believe it is and backed Steele. So please recognize that people are indeed smart and race is indeed an issue.

Anon. check out the actual voter results stats - Steele got very few African-American votes.
His lame and desparate - not too mention last minute - "I love Sinatra - and, oh yeah, Motown too" ads didn't help.

Washingtongardner - reread the posts. I did not say that is how they voted. My point was that it is a legitimate issue that African-Americans want to talk about. Why else would those high profile dems endorse him and hold a number of events with him as well. Must not be an issue like Terry said, huh? Again, it is issue for African-Americans and the party must address it or eventually not only will folks like Steele get those endorsements but votes will start to follow as well.

What a joke... Thanks again for the new taxes Omalley!!!

Really love that Maryland residents now pay 30% more than any other state in the country for Electricity..

Thanks for allowing the Maryland House walk all over us by taxing smokers $1 to pay for Illegal Immigrant's Medical expenses.

What a joke. I lived in Baltimore, met Martin many times, and the place is a true sewer. Yeah, let's let this "Attractive" moron be our Governor... He said while he was campaigning that he was going to raise taxes.. . Too bad that people in Maryland only read headlines and not the content.

90% of African Americans don't think for themselves. African Americans let people like Al Sharpton, and the NAACP make their minds up for them because they tell them it's good for Black people.. Stop being so lazy, read news from MULTIPLE outlets (not just one, IF ANY AT ALL).. Don't just read the headlines and stop letting the Democrats control your brains with this mentality that Republicans are all Evil White Racits. BTW: George Bush spends money like a Democrat... He's not Republican. TAXES are a trait of the Democrats, and also "THE NATION" magazine is not a News Outlet.. It's a propaganda machine. Learn the difference between news and propaganda and you will not be chained up by brainwashing ever again.
