Hump Day Update

- I tell you, there is no better deal in Silver Spring than the jerk chicken sandwich at Negril. A piece of coco bread (delicious on its own) is stuffed with what seems like an entire chicken. On top of that is a tasty Jamaican jerk sauce and a piece of lettuce. This is MORE than enough for an entire meal, and the cost is just $3.45. Not that long ago it was only $2.25. For this you get far more food than you would get at Potbelly's and astronomically more than offered by and sandwich from Subway. If you are really, really, hungry, you can add on a beef patty and really gorge.

- Hey, the Gazette has a story about a Silver Spring castle for sale on eBay. I feel like I've heard something about this before...

- A so-called "Katrina Cottage", which is slightly smaller than the aforementioned castle, will be open to the public at the Gwendolyn E. Coffield Community Center on Lyttonsville Rd. through November.

- Soon-to-be-lame-duck Bobby Haircut is taking the The Washington Suburban Transit Commission offices from Silver Spring and giving them to PG County. "Governor Robert Ehrlich says the January move from Silver Spring to New Carrollton is part of his commitment to bring government agencies to Prince George's [at the expense of Montgomery]." I think a few years ago his main commitment was to maximize the amount of my student loans. :(

Why do people keep calling it Potbelly's? Is there an apostrophe-S on the sign I'm not seeing?

It's just a nickname. I don't feel like going around calling it "Potbelly Sandwich Works" every time and "Potbelly" on its own just sounds funny. I've always heard it called Potbelly's as long as I've known of its existence.

There are much worse nicknames around, such as "The Fe" in College Park...

Ehlrich was at the Silver Spring Metro tonight shaking hands. I think he is the best choice. Baltimore is a mess. O'Malley needed to stay as mayor for *at least* another term to try to get my vote. I'm hoping Ehlrich wins!

Anon. (btw, why no name?)
- Last night Ehrlich was at a fundraiser at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase - they are supporting him in exchange for him not allowing the Purple Line to be built on the county-owned right-of-way through the club's golf course. They have him in their pocket - just like they had Duncan.
For this reason alone Ehrlich will never get my vote.

I'm sorry, but I'm a "one issue voter" when it comes to the gubernatorial election. I am still bitter about the bait-and-switch I got at UM when my tuition skyrocketed because Ehrlich decided to punish education because he couldn't get his slots.

O'Malley gets my vote. Ehrlich ticked me off when he wanted to get slot machines in the state.

Raising college tuition at public universities and his pro-business positions haven't helped his cause either.

Thanks for the recommendation of the jerk chicken sandwich at Negril. Stopped by last night for the first time. That's REALLY good stuff!! Can't wait until my next sandwich.

They've even got the "Negril Express" now so you can your sandwich even faster.

RE: That alone???? ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Come on who are you kiddin you don't like Ehrlich because he is more business progressive and have a better outlook on economic/revenue growth for the state.

I look at O'Malley the same way I look a Glendening which is pimping Maryland tax payers and voters.

RE: Who are you fooling, you know you did not attend UM especially since Ehrlich became Governor.

When Ehrlich got elected the state was in the hole in the $Billions. If he is unable to get support forr revenue generating programs like Slots then what other option did he have to cover the big deficit.

It looks like what your doing is more of scare tactics to CON people into supporting Democrats that don't have the best interest in the Maryland people.

How the heck can anyone support O'Malley especially the way he has abandoned his priorities with improving the quality of life and reputation of Baltimore.

RE: And your not a bit of help by supporting Democrats that are anti-Growth, anti-Business, and anti-progressive.

Your just another example of a Maryland hater.
