Silver Spring News 'N Notes

- The USA Today has an article about Silver Spring's Curtis Pride and how he serves as an inspiration for deaf children.

- Wednesday's Post has a brief profile of the Upstream Seafood Market on Georgia Ave.

- Disappointingly, the new Downtown Silver Spring website which was supposed to be up last week still has no content.

Yesterday, Council Member Mike Knapp asked the County Council to approve moving Park and Planning’s Offices at 8787 Georgia Avenue to Rockville. Council President George Leventhal got the vote put off until next Tuesday because Tom Perez was not there.

Park and Planning is in the middle of a process to pick a development partner for a new office facility and residential project in downtown Silver Spring. If Council adopts Council Member Knapp’s proposal this would be put on hold and one of the largest employers in downtown Silver Spring would be moved to Rockville.

Emails to council members would be very helpful!

The good news is that this isn't going to happen.
